Chainsaws are powerful and dangerous tools, therefore it is essential when using them that you have total confidence and expertise in what you are doing, so avoiding any accidents. Our refresher use of a chainsaw from a rope and harness course will provide you with the appropriate techniques and safety guidelines to ensure that you are comfortable when using a chainsaw and aware of the latest health and safety guidelines making sure that you stay protected.
Who is it for?
If you are an experienced tree surgeon or arborist who has attended the ‘Basic Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue’ course (CLMC45X), or if you hold the NPTC Level 2 Award in ‘Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue’, then this refresher course is available to you.
For our refresher course, as an experienced learner, you will need to provide evidence of your experience.
You must also have previous trained experience in maintenance and the use of chainsaws, including the felling of small trees, you must be physically fit, and not on any medication that could affect your health, and you must not suffer from vertigo.
Our use of a chainsaw from a rope and harness course provides the knowledge and skills required for you to gain assessment for the NTPC Level 2 Award CS 39 ‘Use of a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness’.
