Training & Qualifications

Lantra Awards’ high-quality training is available in 3 different categories; Training Courses, Qualifications and Bespoke Training. The categories are quite different so we’ve provided you with a short description of each. Read on to find out which one is right for you.

Training Courses

Training courses are usually short, one or two day courses divided into 2 sub categories; Assessed and Non-Assessed. At the end of your course, you will be awarded with a nationally recognised certificate.

Assessed Training Courses

Assessed Training Courses require you to both attend the course itself and take part in an assessment. The assessment could be anything from a classroom-based test to a practical demonstration of what you’ve learned. When you’ve completed your assessment, you’ll be presented with a nationally recognised certificate to prove your attendance and your ability.

Non-Assessed Training Courses

Non- Assessed courses do not require you to perform a task or be assessed in another way. In order to receive your certificate you need only attend the course and take in the skills or knowledge that is presented to you. Once the course has finished, you will receive your certificate to prove your attendance.

Qualifications

Qualifications are more intense than standard training courses. They will generally consist of a number of modules relevant to your chosen subject. Once all modules are completed you will, subject to assessment receive a nationally recognised qualification such as NVQ or SVQ.

You will generally be able to work through the chosen modules in your own time, gradually building up your knowledge and experience. You will also have the opportunity to learn on the job so you can progress your skills without leaving your job.

Customised Provision

Customised provision is offered to training providers who would like to offer you something different. 

Colleges, schools and other training providers often come to us with a new idea for a course. Their idea is then scrutinised by our development team and, if it meets our high standards, we will accredit the course so that colleges can offer it with our backing.
