Pest Control

Pest Control Courses
Vermin infestation can afflict the best-run businesses, and dealing with it effectively requires knowledge and skill. Because many of the treatments involve the use of poisonous substances, it is essential that pest control is carried out by people who have received proper training.
On all the Lantra Awards pest control courses you will learn:
-
About the pests you need to control and how to control them
-
The relevant regulations
-
Both preventative and curative methods of control
-
How to administer the pesticides safely and effectively
-
How to plan and monitor a pest control programme
Our courses provide both training and assessment, so that at the end of the course you'll know whether you have reached the Lantra Awards standard. Why You Need Training
Training is a legal requirement. Use of pesticides is governed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) and the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 (FEPA). The regulations require employers to ensure that pesticides are applied only by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use. If you are self-employed, the regulations still apply.
