Cathy is responsible for the development and management of Lantra Awards Qualifications that sit within the National Qualifications Framework and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. She is also responsible for ensuring that all new qualifications are developed in a manner that will ensure that they meet national minimum requirements. In the long-term it is expected that all Lantra Awards Qualifications will sit within the new Qualifications and Credit Framework.
Cathy began working for Lantra Awards in January 2008 following ten years working for the Open College Network West Midlands Region, as a Curriculum and Qualifications Advisor. She initially specialised in supporting a range of providers to develop their own quality assured provision before becoming responsible for supporting Qualification development and liaising with QCA; national networks; training providers and Sector Skills Councils.
The move to Lantra Awards has represented quite a culture shock as her original career was in Health and Social Care; firstly as a social worker and then as a lecturer in further and higher education. However over the years the development of training provision has become her main focus and Lantra Awards has enabled a brand new chapter of curriculum development.
