Nikki is responsible for mapping the existing suite of Lantra Awards, Technical Awards to relevant and appropriate National Occupational Standards (NOS). In addition to this Nikki will be mapping the Technical Awards to the Lantra SSC's Online Competence Framework (OCF) with a view to linking all provision to the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
The links to the OCF are essential in helping to identify prospective career development routes that Technical Awards may provide for a learner. By mapping the Technical Awards; specific units and qualifications will be developed for the QCF which will enable learners to gain qualifications at their own pace along flexible routes.
Nikki can support training providers and instructor/assessors with any Customised Awards and/or Course Endorsements and identify the relationship between the key content of the course and National Occupational Standards.
National Occupational Standards describe the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to undertake a particular task or job to a nationally recognised level of competence.
Nikki has over eight years industry experience incorporating working knowledge of an awarding body (Lantra Awards), training and assessment centre and trade association (BAGMA). Her role at BAGMA was essentially to develop and meet the needs of customers within the land-based industries, specifically in groundscare and agriculture. She specialised in supporting machinery dealers and private/public sector providers of green services to develop their own staff to offer a full service package incorporating training and assessment to their customers. Nikki established centre registrations with NPTC, City & Guilds and IMI (The Institute of the Motor Industry). Nikki understands the importance of all involved in the training and assessment provision to continuously develop and ensure they are best placed to provide effective support to meet industries needs.
