Lantra Awards course for persons experienced in climbing trees using a rope and harness (Work Positioning
System) and in the use of chainsaw from a rope and harness.
Am I eligible
The course is physical in nature. Trainees must have a good level of general fitness and stamina. Medical conditions must be reported to the course organiser prior to commencement. Certain medical conditions may disqualify prospective trainees.
Course Duration
This training is for 4 people over 2 days. There is also an experienced operator version of this training over 1 day for 4 people.
Course content
- Introduction
- Validation of Risk Assessment for course
- Understanding of the types of pruning and use
- understanding of the theory of crown thinning and reduction
- Awareness of the safety considerations to be observed in orgariising the work site.
- Ability to carry out crown reduction operations safely and efficiently
