Boundary Management Courses
There are now many schemes available to farmers and nonfarming owners or managers to encourage the protection of wildlife, environmental conservation and the creation of new habitats the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, the Woodland Grant Scheme, the Farm Woodland Premium Scheme, the Rural Enterprise Scheme and the Energy Crops Scheme under the England Rural Development Plan.
Lantra Awards courses will help farmers and land owners/managers to gain a better understanding of the environment and conservation, and to gain practical skills to help them implement the schemes effectively.
Under the England Rural Development Plan, funding is available for courses which meet the criteria for the different schemes. These courses are eligible for funding of up to 75 per cent of the costs if identified by a business as a training need which forms part of an application under the England Rural Development Vocational Training Scheme. The scheme isoperational in all areas of England with the exception of Objective One regions.
Lantra Awards courses meet the scheme criteria because they support the Rural Development Regulations by increasing protection of the environment and by developing sustainable management practices. Further information about funding arrangements and the criteria will be available from your training provider.
