This Lantra Awards chainsaw course in Maintenance and cross-cutting is a training-only course.
Am I eligible?
This training-only course leads to NPTC Certification, are intended for “someone who anticipates seeking contractual work in professional forestry, amenity or utility arboricultural activities which is likely, immediately or at some future date, to involve felling trees over 200mm and/or aerial tree work”.
This course is also available as an Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course

A two-day course for a maximum of four trainees

- Workshop safety awareness
- Guide bar, saw chain and power unit maintenance
- Re-assembly
- Health and safety features
- Lubrication and fuelling
- Personal protective equipment
- Starting and pre-cutting checks
- Site safety awareness
- Cross-cutting and stacking timber.
