Shotgun Coaching: Development (Level 2)

A vocational, skills based qualification designed for candidates with some experience and knowledge of shotgun coaching techniques.  The emphasis will be placed on professional standards throughout, with particular emphasis on high standards of procedural safety consistent across the full scope of the shotgun coaches’ remit.

Course Duration

2 days integrated training and assessment

• Shotgun – safe handling and use
• Coaching techniques (development level)
• Coaching safety procedures
• Applied risk assessment
• Applied health & safety
• Communicating: teaching and learning shooting proficiency
• Demonstrating: teaching and learning shooting proficiency
• Gun fitting (stage II)
• Planning the teaching programme
• Planning and implementing Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Course Outcome:

Successful students will receive a Lantra Awards certificate and photocard recognised within the Land-based industries.
