Felling Small Trees up to 380mm, including the Takedown of Hung Up Trees Using Hand Tools
This Lantra Awards chainsaw course is for novice operators with little or no experience of chainsaw felling, anyone who are required to operate chainsaws for felling to guidebar length. The
course is designed to prepare learners for assessment for NPTC Level 2 Award
unit CS 31.
Course Duration
Novice learners: 3 long days when daylight permits. This is the minimum duration and some learners may need further instruction.
Experienced learners: 2 days. Evidence of experience required.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Felling demonstration
- Felling trees up to 380mm diameter
- Additional felling techniques
- Delimbing felled trees
- Cross cutting trunks of felled trees
- Take down hung-up trees
