This course is aimed at people working in:

What does the course involve?
On this course you will learn about:
- Sector awareness
- General site responsibilities, arrangements and risk assessments
- Safety rules and documents issued by network operators
- Electrical hazards and conductivity and earthing
- Identification of electrical plant and apparatus
- Ground clearances for overhead lines and associated equipment
- Tree categories
- Emergency actions: live incident.
What is the course duration?
This is a two day course for novice learners. There is a one day course available for those with experience or are doing this course as part of their recertification.
Site Operations: Use of insulated rods, tree pruning, felling and climbing
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at people involved in:
- Overhead line clearance operations
- Utility arboriculture
What does the course involve?
On this course you will learn about:
- Tree identification, hazard and health
- Tree categories (G55/2)
- Identification of electrical plant and apparatus
- Ground clearances for overhead lines and associated equipment
- Pruning principals and branch removal using pruning attachments on insulated rods
- Aerial and ground based tree work
- Operation, inspection and maintenance of insulated rods.
What is the course duration?
This is a two day course. If you are experienced or doing this course as part of your recertification then it should take one day.
