Assessor Status for Falconry Award
To become an assessor you need to already be a holder of the Beginning Falconry Award, as well as fulfilling all other pre-requisites within the Assessor application form. Your application will be scrutinised by an EV, and based on evidence you supply with the application, a decision made to qualify or deny you a place onto the second stage of approval.
This second stage is to attend our 1 day ‘Falconry Assessor Training Day’, here you will be taught the details of each module included, be given recommendations on how to assess your learners, the standards involved and also Lantra Awards procedures for certification.
Upon fulfilment of the day, you will have full assessor status. All Assessors will need to be affiliated with an AP (Administration Point) who you will work with to manage learners. You can choose to set up your own AP or become connected with an already established one, through contact done between yourself and the chosen Admin Point. The current list of Administration Points can be found within the Falconry pages of our website
If successful, you will be allocated an External Verifier, and after roughly 6 months of assessing learners be required to complete a Quality Assurance (QA) activity to ensure that standards are being met and your learner workbooks are being assessed acceptably. More detail surrounding this QA activity will be explained during the training event.
