Lift Truck & Plant

As you may be aware, key changes took place to the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) from 1st August 2008. Consequently, the Lantra Awards Level 2 Certificate in Specialised Plant and Machinery Operations is no longer aligned to the CPCS card.

This qualification will run out of approval on December 31st 2009; and although a number of discussions and consultations have been had across the sector; a lack of demand has meant that there is currently no plan to replace it.

Learners will still be eligible for the Intermediate Certificate up until the certification expiry date of 31 December 2011 (providing they are registered with Lantra Awards prior to 31 December 2009).
The Lantra Awards training courses in Plant and Machinery are currently being reviewed and updated and still remain a model of good practice for learners who need training in these skill areas; and who may wish to prepare for the CPCS test.
