Mapping to success
Did you know that Lantra Awards has undertaken a comprehensive project and mapped the Technical Awards to National Occuptional Standards (NOS)?
The mapping has been an important step for Lantra Awards in establishing its Technical Awards provision as an exemplary method of training (and assessment) in line with NOS and acknowledging candidate competence.
We believe this enhances the national recognition of our provision.
Lantra Awards recognises the importance of supporting its partners and believes it is essential that we compliment the work carried out. NOS describe the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to undertake a particular task or job to a nationally recognised level of competence.
With this in mind the Online Competence Framework (OCF), developed by Lantra SSC is a vital tool for employers, employees, self-employed and in general, individuals. Lantra Awards is updating the OCF with the Qualifications and Technical Awards provision to ensure users have the best opportunities available to them and support the identification of prospective career development routes.
Let us support you and identify where your courses* are linked to NOS.
You may not be aware of the relationships the key content of your courses have with NOS so this will be an invaluable exercise. Your courses, in general, will relate to, or may even provide underpinning knowledge to NOS.
The mapping will add value to your courses and provide a basis for any future developments.
In the future, instructors and candidates will be able to see the links displayed in the course materials.
The website will be an essential tool for you; to pull off current and up to date product portfolios and link to the mapping.
By mapping the Technical Awards; specific units and qualifications will be developed for the QCF which will enable learners to gain qualifications at their own pace along flexible routes.
