Ofqual recognition for Lantra Awards

The Office of the Qualifications and Examinations regulator (Ofqual) have re-approved Lantra Awards as an Awarding Organisation following their application for supplementary recognition to operate in the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Julie Murphy and Cathy Riley have played a major part in this great achievement and their hard work has paid dividend.

Supplementary recognition has been a focussed and detailed piece of work and essentially has been the re-approval of all Awarding Organisations. It is similar to the re-licensing process that Lantra Awards’ parent company Lantra Sector Skills Council have undertaken and successfully achieved.

For Lantra Awards, this success now means that the company are able to continue to submit qualifications into the QCF and can operate into and beyond 2010.

Unlike many Awarding Organisations, Lantra Awards has been approved from the first submission along with some additional information requested by Ofqual and without conditions attached to the approval. This in itself is a great accolade and testament to the commitment and hard work of its employees.

Jonathan Swift, Chairman of Lantra Awards said: “I am especially delighted for Julie and her team, to receive approval on a first submission and without any applied conditions, illustrates a thorough and meticulous attention to detail. A well deserved mark of recognition to add to the quality reputation for Lantra Awards.”

The initial report commented on Lantra Awards submission as a model of good practice and was commended for it’s commitment and investment into engaging with the QCF.

Lantra Awards plan to further expand on their portfolio of QCF qualifications during and beyond 2010.
