Plant Operations Changes
There have been a couple of changes to the NVQ Level 2 Certificate and Diploma in Plant Operations Qualifications.
The changes are as follows:
There are now two NEW Qualifications:
Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations (QCF) – 600/3757/X
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations (QCF) – 600/4012/9
It is important that you register any new learners against the new Qualifications with effect from 1st December 2011. The old Qualifications, 500/8341/7 and 500/8319/3 will no longer be valid. However, any existing learners registered on the old Qualifications can of course continue and complete their course.
The changes to the Qualifications
Units
J/600/7139 Conforming to Efficient Working Practices in the Workplace
Has been replaced with
J/503/1169 Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace
AND
F/600/7138 – Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace
Has been replaced with
A/503/1170 Conforming to General Health. Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
In addition the structure of the Qualification has been revised slightly in line with changes dictated by Construction Skills:

Certificate
There is a revised list of optional units for Pathways 10 & 11
There is an extra unit within the additional units section – ‘Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace’.
Diploma
There is a revised list of optional units for Pathway 7 & 8
There is an extra unit within the additional units section – ‘Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace’
Please familiarise yourself with the amendment straight away.
To re-iterate – please register all new learners from 1st December on the new Qualifications using the amended units and new structure.
All approved centres will be sent a new Qualification CD which includes all of the required documentation for the Qualifications including the Centre Handbook which details the structure.
