New Teaching Qualification
Marksman Corporate Services has piloted a revised Lantra Awards Instructor Training course that will also lead to achievement of the new qualification Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector through City and Guilds. The Instructor Training course offered by Marksman has been fully revamped to meet the requirements of the qualification which became a requirement for new entrants to teaching in further education on an associate/full time basis from September 2007 onwards. Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector is a mix of guided learning and assessment with some self study. The pilot course was a complete success and nine candidates have successfully completed the practical assessment requirements and are currently adding the finishing touches to their portfolios of evidence, much of which is collated during the course itself.
The qualification is based upon the standards developed by the Lifelong Learning Sector Skills Council www.lifelonglearninguk.org. Marksman Corporate Services is an approved City and Guilds centre to offer the qualification. For more information contact Mike Green.
