There are now many schemes available to farmers and non-farming owners or managers to encourage the protection of wildlife, environmental conservation and the creation of new habitats - the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, the Woodland Grant Scheme, the Farm Woodland Premium Scheme, the Rural Enterprise Scheme and the Energy Crops Scheme under the England Rural Development Plan. Lantra Awards courses will help farmers and land owners/managers to gain a better understanding of the environment and conservation, and to gain practical skills to help them implement the schemes effectively.
