The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations and Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations are competency based Qualifications. They are based on National Occupational Standards (NOS) which reflect the working practices of plant operators. The standards were developed by the Sector Skills Councils (SSC) and the Standard Setting Bodies’ Plant Operations Steering Group. This included employer representatives from a large number of industry organisations and Awarding Organisations, as plant operation is relevant to many industries within a number of different sectors. The unitised structure of the Qualifications enables Continual Professional Development (CPD) activities to be evidenced and certificated for those learners who may not require the full Certificate or Diploma.
