Lantra Awards Level 2 Certificate in Highway Electrical Work – Public Lighting (QCF) Qualification Code: 500/6217/7
This new QCF Qualification offers learners in the Public Lighting Electro technical Sector a national recognised qualification route that will enable progression within the apprenticeship framework and current NVQ/SVQ provision. It provides the opportunity for the learner to achieve a recognised national Qualification that reflects the national standards for the type(s) of role(s) they perform. The Qualification will be suitable for those entering work and those who have begun to establish themselves in a role within the highway electrical environment. The Qualification underpins the currently recognised NVQ/SVQ’s and contains the essential knowledge and skills required to support achievement and progression.
This Qualification contains four pathways. Each of the pathways requires the learner to achieve a set number of credits.
- Achievement of the Installation pathway requires the learner to gain 14 credits.
- Achievement of the Maintenance pathway requires the learner to gain 14 credits.
- Achievement of the Installation and Maintenance Pathway requires the learner to achieve 17 credits.
- Achievement of the Surface Protection Pathway requires the learners to achieve 13 credits.

The Level 3 Certificate comprises of seven mandatory units. To achieve the qualification learners must gain 21 credits.
Learners must complete the Level 2 Qualification before progressing onto the Level 3 Qualification
