Level 3 Award in Volunteer Management

Who can do the qualification?

Developed in association with leading voluntary organisations, the Level 3 Award in Volunteer Management is suitable for anyone who manages volunteers either in a voluntary or paid capacity.

What does the qualification comprise?

The course consists of six units:

  • Unit 1 Plan volunteer work
  • Unit 2 Organising volunteers and resources
  • Unit 3 Monitor volunteer work
  • Unit 4 Communicate effectively to brief volunteers
  • Unit 5 Support volunteers to solve problems
  • Unit 6 Give feedback to volunteers

How is the qualification assessed?

The qualification is assessed by a single project (work book) sent to Lantra Awards and marked by an external Examiner. Materials to support assessment are sent to learners who register for the qualification. Learners should normally complete the project within nine months of registration.

Who can offer the qualification?

As well as large providers such as colleges, organisations such as those in the voluntary sector can register as a centre with Lantra Awards. This means that small voluntary organisations can offer the qualification to the appropriate member(s) of staff/volunteers within their organisation.
